1. Forebay GSP evaluation and amendment are due January 2027 The Salinas Valley Basin GSA is preparing a five-year periodic evaluation and an amendment to the Forebay Groundwater Sustainability Plan, which covers the Arroyo Seco Cone Management Area. In response to Department of Water Resources feedback, the amendment will revise the groundwater-quality undesirable-result definition to account for exceedances attributable to extraction, if they occur, and include the conservation-release period in the criteria for interconnected surface water. Staff said the amendment requires a 90-day notice in September 2026 and targeted review by both boards in November, before submission in January 2027. Staff plans to seek committee input on updated data, water budgets and proposed criteria changes over the summer.
